Urological Fast Care: a rapid solution for urological conditions

*This is a private-pay service and does not replace Emergency Department care. Severe or emergency conditions cannot be managed within this service.

Urological Fast Care is a private-pay service (not provided through the National Health Service or insurance agreements) offered by Casa di Cura La Madonnina.

The service is available Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays), from 8:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and enables prompt management of:

  • urinary stones
  • other non-urgent urological conditions

What are urinary stones

Urinary stones are small solid deposits composed of minerals and salts that form within the urinary tract, most commonly in the kidneys, due to high concentrations of substances such as calcium, uric acid, or oxalate that crystallize.

When stones move along or obstruct the urinary tract, they may cause severe pain (renal colic) and difficulty urinating.

How Urological Fast Care works

Urological Fast Care provides timely urological evaluation for non-urgent urinary conditions such as kidney stones, blood in the urine, benign prostatic enlargement, suspected prostate disease, and other urological concerns.

Accessing the service is simple:

  • Call +39 344 777 4777 and speak with an operator.
  • If clinically indicated, within a few hours the following may be arranged at the Clinic:
    • urological consultation (€350);
    • CT scan and blood tests, according to the Clinic’s official price list.
  • Based on clinical evaluation and test results, treatment may be prescribed for home management or, when necessary, immediate hospitalization may be arranged to continue the diagnostic and therapeutic pathway.

Any additional investigations or services, including hospitalization, will be provided according to Casa di Cura La Madonnina’s pricing schedule.

The service enables effective management of urinary conditions while optimizing waiting times by providing:

  • Rapid access: specialist diagnostic assessments performed within hours, allowing prompt diagnosis;
  • Reduced waiting times: faster clinical management and stone treatment, supporting quicker recovery and return to daily activities;
  • Dedicated care: a personalized, tailor-made clinical pathway designed around each patient.

Symptoms that may require rapid (non-urgent) urological evaluation

Symptoms that may warrant timely urological consultation include:

  • acute but non-emergency pain, typically intermittent and located in the lower back, possibly radiating to the lower abdomen or groin;
  • nausea or occasional vomiting without signs of dehydration;
  • frequent urination with low output;
  • persistent urge to urinate without successful voiding;
  • weak or intermittent urinary stream;
  • burning during urination lasting several days without high fever;
  • small amounts of blood in the urine (mild hematuria);
  • mild but persistent testicular discomfort without sudden swelling or redness.
